Hello delegates, and welcome to IMUN 21.
My name is Abdel Majed Salameh, and it is an absolute pleasure to preside over you in the HRC committee.
The Human Rights Council/Committee is an intergovernmental organization within the United Nations system that is responsible for strengthening the promotion and protection of human rights across the world, as well as investigating and offering suggestions on various cases regarding human rights violations. In the HRC, we discuss relevant thematic Human Rights violations that have recently occurred to ensure that every individual lives a life of dignity.
I'm looking forward to working with you all, and I'm confident that all of you will exceed expectations and succeed in this committee. I just wish you could explore your passion, like I did in the world of MUN.
